Unplug and Recharge

Broughton Sanctuary Spring and Summer Stays 2024

Explore our Nature Sanctuary and Wellbeing Getaways

Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life to immerse yourself in the serene beauty of our 3,000-acre nature sanctuary dedicated to rewilding both the land and the spirit. Nestled amidst rolling hills with picturesque wild swimming spots, overlooking biodiverse and striking landscapes, our wide range of holiday homes offer the perfect respite for those seeking tranquility and wide-open space.
Our curated selection of properties are designed to foster a sense of calm, inspiration and connection with nature. To guide you around our Sanctuary and provide a framework to the range of activities throughout Spring and Summer, here are four themed "Unplugged Holidays" full of suggestions to help you reconnect and recharge with family, friends or on a solo holiday.

Sanctuary of Nature

Experience the therapeutic benefits of staying in tranquil environments, decompress stress, find clarity and enhanced creativity. Relax in our hermit hut, wander through our Walled Garden, and unwind in outdoor areas. Go on a nature recovery tour, paint a pot with resident potter Kate Tempest and take a dip in our wild swimming reservoir. Our holiday homes feature nature-inspired interiors to complete your sanctuary experience.

Rewild Your Spirit

Take the opportunity to restore your energy at Avalon, our wellbeing hub offering Self-Guided Retreats, or add our wellbeing bundle of four experiences to your stay. Reconnect with yourself, nature and in community through a variety of Wellbeing Activities featured on our monthly calendar. Enjoy a moment of silent reflection in our private chapel, join a nervous-system workshop, somatic ecstatic dance or sound bath. From June 2024 you can explore our 30km Odyssey trail on foot or by bicycle for a voyage for the mind, body and spirit.

Filmed & Framed

Discover Broughton as a destination for screen and film enthusiasts, with its proximity to Malham Cove, a filming location for Harry Potter. Follow in the footsteps of Emily Bronte, filmed on our moorland. Stay on the grounds where the most recent TV production of All Creatures Great and Small is filmed. Discover a red telephone box on a green hill featured in Bollywood films. Be inspired by artists like Hockey with a visit to Salts Mill in Saltaire, and Turner as you explore his oil painted scenes at neighouring Bolton Abbey, Barden Tower, and Aysgarth Waterfalls on day trips into the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Rewild Your Child

For families seeking quality time together, embark on a journey to rewild together amidst the wonders of nature. Enjoy multi-generational stays, access to rewilding landscapes on your doorstep and engage with a variety of nature-focused adventures designed to restore and remember our innate connection with the earth. With the Wild Explorers forest school on our grounds, little guests can enjoy days of fun in the outdoors and make new friends, while parents can enjoy some downtime alone.
